Passport-style photograph

Photo guideline: a recent [no more than 6 months old] colour photograph [dimensions: 35mm x 45mm] of yourself in JPEG format with 1200 x 1600 pixels resolution [against a plain colour background, facing directly towards the camera]

Prime Identification Document(current passport)

You need to upload a clear colour scan of bio-data page only including the photo

Official Change of Name Document(where applicable)

If your name or spelling across your documentation varies, the name in the passport is taken as your official name and you must provide a name change document. Documents like marriage certificate, an affidavit or newspaper clippings are accepted as per case basis.

Ciriulum Vitae/Resume

Resume should be up to date and any gaps between your experience should be justified. You can include non-engineering experience as well.

How to check Engineers Australia skills assessment status?

You can check your application status by simply logging into your account and viewing your application. The application status includes: Pending or Queued for Assessment wherein the application is yet to be seen by assessor, Assessment In-Progress wherein it is being assessed by assessor, Awaiting Information as in additional information is required from your end, to Outcome Granted.

Can I upload any more docuemnts once the application has been submitted?

While you can’t upload any more documents you can however cancel the application if it’s still in the “Awaiting Assessment” status. If you believe that the application was submitted incorrectly, you may send an email to member services requesting to cancel your application.

How long is Engineers Australia skills assessment valid for?

Your assessment letter is valid for an indefinite period with Engineers Australia however, its validity with DHA for migration visa applications is only three years.

What is the English requirement for Engineers Australia Migration skills assessment?

Applicants are required to have competent English i.e., 50 in each module for PTE Academic and 6 in each band for IELTS to be eligible for Engineers Australia Migration skill assessment. Applicants with a passport from an English speaking country or the ones holding a 2 or more year long qualification may apply for exemption.

Can I get PR in Australia without skill assessment?

No, Skill assessment is required mostly for Work-stream permanent residence visas including skilled subclass 189, 190 and 491. It’s also often required for Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186), Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 187), Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482) etc. There are other PR pathways including Business investment and family visa pathways that don’t require skill assessment.
