How many points do I need to be eligible for a skilled visa?

You need a minimum of 65 points to be eligible for skilled visas. However, simply scoring 65 points doesn’t guarantee you a visa acceptance. Given the high competition, one needs to achieve as many points as possible to strengthen their chances of Australian PR.

How can I gain more points for Australian PR?

The ways to increase your points can vary based on your profile, some ways include getting superior english scores, gaining accreditation in credentialled community language through NAATI, assessing your work experience, having your partner complete their english test and skill assessment or maybe even completing a australian 2 years degree that meets the study requirement.

I meet the points requirement, what do I do next?

Once you meet the points requirement, you need to complete your English language test and skill assessment. You can then lodge your Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect. If you receive an invitation to apply, you can then submit your visa application.

How to calculate PR points for Australia?

Is it mandatory for my partner to complete an English test?

If your partner is included in your PR application, for PR English requirement, they need to demonstrate functional English i.e, an overall 4.5 in IELTS or a total of 30 in PTE. If they are able to get a competent English score i.e, 6 in each band for IELTS or 50 in each module for PTE, you get 5 more points for PR.

Can I improve my points after submitting my EOI?

Yes, you can update your EOI at any given time to increase your PR points until you’ve received an invitation. Once you receive an invitation, your EOI is locked and you need to provide necessary proofs during that time. Failure to do so may result in visa rejection.

What's the criteria for age points for PR in Australia?

The PR points for age in Australia are as follows:
18 to 24 years old- 25 points; 25 to 32 years old- 30 points, 33 to 39 years old - 25 points and 40 to 44 years old - 15 points.
