How long should each career episode be?
Engineers Australia recommends each career episode to be between 1000 - 2500 words. It’s always better to have a career episode that’s more than 2000 words and demonstrates all the required competency elements well.
Can I write two or more career episodes on the same work experience?
Yes, you can draw two or more career episodes from the same work experience however the projects being described must be different. What should I base my career episodes on?
You can base your career episodes on several instances including academic projects, work experience, internships, workshops, seminars etc as long as they are well detailed and able to demonstrate your competency. If you aren’t sure if the projects you have are a good fit for career episodes, you can send us to them for free evaluation.
Will basing all three of my career episodes on academic projects raise any problem?
Basing all three career episodes on academic projects is acceptable since engineers australia doesn’t need work experience for assessment. This may however influence the occupational category you get assessed in. Unless you’re a recent graduate, there is a slight possibility of being assessed as an Engineering Technologist instead of professional engineer.
Can I go for two skill assessments from Engineers Australia simultaneously?
No, one needs to wait until they receive an outcome from their previous assessment to go for a new assessment. They can however go for skill assessment and experience assessment simultaneously.
